Metastasis

Most cancer deaths are due to tumours that form far from the original disease. These ‘metastatic’ tumours are especially difficult to treat. In fact, we currently have no therapies specifically for metastasis.

Many metastatic tumours are driven by changes in the KRAS protein, known as the ‘Death Star’ of cancer drivers. KRAS-driven metastasis is perhaps the single greatest challenge in cancer, accounting for around one-third of all cancer death. Our goal is to explore the biology of KRAS metastatic cancer with a focus on developing new treatments.
