Cancer Models

At the McNab, we are developing and using ‘human-on-a-chip’ technology to better understand how cancer cells interact with the whole body and how this changes the way we treat patients. This method uses artificially grown cells that resemble human organs, allowing us to better simulate human disease.

Despite their promise, human-based models have limitations when it comes to simulating the whole body. We house several of the world’s elite Drosophila (fruit fly) and mouse cancer scientists. At the McNab, we are combining these different methods into a single, seamless platform. We believe difficult problems require bold and innovative approaches. A fly-mouse-human platform is just one of our innovations.
